On 1 February 2026, Companies House will introduce a significant set of fee changes.
What are the key changes?
Here are some key changes to note:
- The fee for digital incorporation (Form IN01) will increase to £100, up from approximately £50.
- The fee for filing a digital confirmation statement will rise to £50, from £34.
- However, not all fees are going up; for instance, the voluntary strike-off digital fee will decrease to £13.
- These fee adjustments are designed to support the enhanced mandate under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023, with a stronger emphasis on enforcement, verification, and transparency by Companies House. A comprehensive outline of the fee changes can be found on their website.
Why are fees changing?
The adjustments to Companies House fees are intended to accurately reflect the true cost of delivering their services, particularly in light of increased compliance, verification, and security requirements. These changes will help fund improvements to the public company register, enhance identity verification for directors, and more effectively combat false or misleading information. While it is never ideal for businesses to absorb cost increases, these changes aim to foster a more secure and trustworthy corporate environment in the UK.
A spokesperson from the agency stated that they utilise income from their fees to incorporate companies and publish accessible company information that is invaluable to the UK economy. Furthermore, their new and enhanced powers under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act enable them to query and eliminate false and misleading information from their registers. They are committed to building a more trustworthy environment for consumers and legitimate businesses, thereby reducing the risks faced by those who do not fulfil their obligations.
PKB Fees
Please note that any increases passed on from Companies House will be reflected in PKB’s fees. This will include the online filing fee for a Confirmation Statement, which will rise from £34 to £50.
