Challenge: The shareholding directors of an established electronics company came to PKB Accountants looking for advice about how to develop a strategic approach for buying out a large investor.

Our solution: We assisted the company with raising the venture capital necessary for business expansion and securing a listing on the PLUS market.

Outcome: The final sale price was £1.8 million higher than the initial offer they received.

Personal and management development

Challenge: The UK subsidiary of an international company had a new managing director who needed to be successfully integrated into the existing management team as well as the entire business.

Our solution: One of our personal development coaches assisted the new MD with developing his role and establishing a relationship with the management team.

Outcome: As well as helping the new MD to become a valued and appreciated member of the team, our approach helped management to develop more modern practices.

Reducing costs

Challenge: When the recession started to have an impact on the cash flow and profits of a consultancy company, management wanted to reduce their headcount so that they could cut costs and survive.

Our solution: We enabled the business to save money without the need for them to make any redundancies. We achieved this by doing a thorough assessment of the company and advising them to defer salary costs until the market recovered.

Outcome: The business has successfully recovered from the difficulties they faced during the recession and this was largely down to the fact that they maintained their experienced team. They are now profitable as they were able to take advantage of business opportunities that they couldn’t have undertaken if they had lost the capacity of their employees.
