Tax & Payroll Apprentice

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax & Payroll Apprentice to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to begin a professional career in taxation and payroll whilst gaining valuable practical experience in a supportive practice environment.
The successful candidate will receive full training and support towards achieving their ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians) qualification, alongside hands-on experience in payroll administration, Self-Assessment Tax Returns, and Making Tax Digital for Income Tax Self-Assessment (MTD ITSA).
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
Main Responsibilities:
- Tax Administration
- Assist with the preparation of Self-Assessment Tax Returns
- Support clients with tax-related administration and correspondence
- Assist with the implementation and administration of MTD ITSA requirements
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation
- Monitor deadlines and workflow processes to ensure work is completed on time
- Assist with HMRC correspondence and client queries
- Support the tax team with the preparation of client information and tax records
- Payroll Administration
- Assist with the preparation and processing of client payrolls
- Maintain payroll records and employee information
- Support payroll compliance activities
- Assist with payroll-related enquiries
- Ensure payroll deadlines are met and records remain accurate
About You:
- Educated to GCSE level (or equivalent), including Maths and English (grade 5 or above)
- Good written and numerical skills
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Confident using Microsoft Office applications
- Willingness to learn new systems and technology
- Interested in developing a career in tax and payroll
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Client Services Support Administrator / Receptionist

We are seeking a professional, organised, and proactive Client Services Support Administrator / Receptionist for a fast-paced, demanding role. You will provide high-quality administrative and client-facing support, working efficiently within established workflow processes to meet critical timelines, while maintaining accuracy, process compliance, and data security.
In this role, you will be a key member of our Accountancy Practice, assisting all departments. You will be the first point of contact for incoming enquiries, efficiently directing them, as appropriate, to ensure our clients receive excellent service, marked by enthusiasm and professionalism. You will thrive in a team environment, always ready to help others. Building strong relationships with colleagues and clients is essential in this position.
This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday 9am-5pm.
Main Responsibilities:
- Welcome clients and visitors professionally
- Manage calls, emails, and enquiries efficiently
- Scan, organise, and maintain documents, including confidential information
- Monitor mailboxes for general and secure document exchange
- Manage stationery and office resources, handle confidential waste
- Assist with general client services and office tasks as needed
- Use Microsoft Office effectively, with advanced proficiency in Word (document formatting, mail merges, templates, and professional correspondence), and competent use of Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams
- Work independently and as part of a team, following workflow processes to ensure deadlines are met
About You:
- Advanced MS Word skills are essential
- Strong administrative, organisational, and multitasking skills
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and professional
- Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, both independently and collaboratively
- Confident with Microsoft Office and digital systems, able to adapt to new tools quickly
- Understands the importance of data security and confidentiality
