As the government continues to support businesses during lockdown, the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) has been extended until the end of October 2020.

If you’re one of the many employers who made a claim last month, please note that you will need to submit another claim in order to continue receiving payments.

To ensure you receive your funds by the end of May, you will need to apply by Wednesday 20 May. Once you have done this, you will receive the money within six working days.

The CJRS will continue to run in its current form until the end of July. From 1 August until the end of October, the government will introduce more flexibility. This will enable employers to bring their furloughed employees back to work part-time and contribute to paying their wages while still receiving support from the scheme. More details about this will be published by the end of this month.

As always, please keep all records and calculations if you’re claiming against the scheme in case HMRC needs to contact you about this.

If you have any further questions about the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, you can find all the information you need on the gov.uk website.
