The Self-Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS) is now closed for new claims for the first grant.
As announced at the end of May however, the scheme has been extended to a second and final grant.
Who can claim for the SEISS extension?
If you were eligible for the first grant and can confirm to HMRC that your business has been adversely affected on or after 14 July 2020, you will be able to make a claim from 17 August 2020.
You can make a claim for the second grant even if you didn’t for the first.
Please note that the online service is not available yet. HMRC will contact you if you’re eligible and you will be able to make a claim from 17 August 2020. You can find out everything you need to know about making a second claim on the gov.uk website.
If you made a claim in error and you were not eligible for the grant, you’ve been overpaid or would like to make a voluntary repayment, tell HMRC who will be able to advise you how to pay some or all of the grant back. You can find out more about this here.
If you would like further information about the SEISS or would like to know how much you’ll be able to claim, please get in touch with PKB as we have a calculator to assist you.
