Companies House has announced that they will be increasing their fees as part of their annual review. Set to come into effect from 1 May 2024, the new costs will affect many services including confirmation statements, incorporation, a change of name, re-registration and more.

A full outline of the fee increases can be found on their website and will affect:

Companies House has emphasised that their fees are set on a cost recovery basis. This means that their fees cover the cost of the services they deliver, and they do not make a profit on what they charge.

A spokesperson from the agency commented:

“We’re amending our fees to bring them in line with the costs of providing our services but also to recover the costs of our new powers being introduced through the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act.”

They continued:

“This will enable the cost of investigative and enforcement activities that promote the integrity of the register, maintain a healthy business environment and combat economic crime, to be met through fees.”

Please note that any increases passed on from Companies House will be reflected in PKB’s fees from 1 May 2024.  This will include the online filing fee of a Confirmation Statement, which is increasing from £13 to £34.

If you have any questions or concerns about any of the increases, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with PKB and we’ll be happy to advise.
